Tiny House Sponsorship
Each year Hammerstone offers a homebuilding series based around a real tiny house project. Courses go through all stages of construction, starting with a bare trailer and finishing with custom cabinetry.
Courses are open to beginners, and students can take one or all of the series. There are no prerequisites but we highly recommend that students take 2-Day Basic Carpentry Skills before attending a tiny house course. All skills learned in the series are applicable to standard size building.
Build your tiny house and support women learning carpentry at the same time!
Consider Sponsoring a hammerstone Tiny House!
Hammerstone wants to build YOUR tiny house on wheels! If you have been thinking about downsizing or trying to lead a debt-free life; if you are in need of a guest cottage or WFH office space; maybe you’re trying to reduce your carbon footprint – whatever your motivations may be, we want to hear from you. We accept applications on a rolling basis and typically decide on a sponsor for the following teaching season in fall. Note: Because of logistical constraints, we are currently only taking on tiny house projects on wheels. We cannot currently accept sponsors for ground-bound tiny houses.
Does a course sponsor get a free tiny house!?! Unfortunately, no. Course sponsors cover the cost of materials and any labor done by Hammerstone staff outside of work done by classes, but there are significant benefits. First and foremost, Tiny House Course Sponsors make it possible for us to teach carpentry classes. Having classes designed around a real-life project gives meaning and purpose to the effort our students put into this build. Additionally, as a course sponsor, the labor for work completed during our classes is free, adding up to savings on the construction cost. Also, as the course sponsor, you can take any and all of the classes around your tiny house free of charge. Finally, you receive the intangible benefit of getting to know a community of women+ participating in the construction of your house.
