Who is this class for:
Hammerstone courses are open to all women and gender minorities. Hammerstone welcomes all trans folks including trans men. This course welcomes folks of all skill levels with no prerequisite.
Description:
This project-based class is a great way to refine your woodworking skills. A simple serving tray doesn’t require a lot of material, so you can experiment with more expensive wood varieties and joinery techniques. We keep the construction of this beautiful tray straightforward but elegant so it is accessible to all skill levels. After class, you can easily adapt the design by choosing more advanced joinery and milling techniques as your skills improve.
Level up your handbuilt wooden serving tray by attending our 2-day Intro to Parquetry class! In this class you'll learn to create geometric designs with wood veneer and have the option of building a decorated bottom for your tray. Join us for both classes and receive a 5% discount off both courses! If you register for both classes at once the discount will automatically apply to your cart in Active.com. If you've already signed up for one class and want to add the other, just register then email us at admin@hammerstoneschool.com to receive a credit for the discount!
Sliding Scale Payment:
Since 2020, we have offered a sliding scale for all of our course offerings. Materials costs are not included in the sliding scale. Please choose a tuition amount that you can afford to attend this class.

I consider myself low-income/low-wealth. I cannot access this course without financial help.
