Who is this class for:
Hammerstone courses are open to all women and gender minorities. Hammerstone welcomes all trans folks including trans men. This course welcomes folks of all skill levels with no prerequisite.

Description:
Wood is an incredible medium: it is light, it is strong, it works easily, and it grows on trees! But some projects don't work well in wood. Hooks need to be slender yet strong, and curve significantly, which is hard to manage with the anisotropic nature of wood (it behaves differently in different directions). In this class you will learn a HOT new skill that will complement your woodworking.

We’re thrilled to invite Mark Teece, The British Blacksmith, to teach this fun hook-making workshop. In addition to teaching out of his home shop in Syracuse, NY, Mark brings his teaching on the road with portable forges and anvils. He’s an excellent and supportive instructor, as can be testified to by Hammerstone instructor Maria who has taken his hook-making class.
